In September sails appear off the Dana Point Headlands as a fleet gathers in preparation for entering the Harbor. The Tall ships Festival starts with crews of the tall ship's furling the sails and make preparations for entry into the harbor. All the while defending themselves from the cannon blasts of renegade vessels. During the two day festival there is also a themed art show and fun for the kids during the two day event.
